About the Instructors
Reese Clemons: An Art Education major at Appalachian State University, Reese Clemons pairs her passion for creative practice with a deep commitment to teaching. Working primarily in oil painting, she utilizes the medium to investigate the intersections of memory, observation, and personal narrative. Her time at the Turchin Center for the Visual Arts has allowed her to engage closely with exhibition programming, fostering a nuanced understanding of how visual art resonates with diverse audiences. With additional experience across various educational settings, Reese is dedicated to cultivating inclusive environments where participants can explore their own creativity and find meaningful connection through the arts.
Dora Hagaman: A senior at Appalachian State University majoring in Art Management with a minor in Non-Profit Management, Dora Hagaman draws profound inspiration from her roots in Boone. As a fiber artist and developing painter, her creative work often celebrates her love for crochet, flowers, and local agriculture. Dora seeks to give back to the Watauga community that raised her by fostering connections through art and local engagement. Before joining the Turchin Center team, she gained valuable experience as an intern at the Blowing Rock Art and History Museum. Her work has been showcased at the Looking Glass Gallery and featured in The Peel Literature & Arts Review.
